I can’t recommend Malik at leap physio enough. I got a grade 2 ankle sprain 2 weeks before running the London marathon and thought I was going to have to pull out. Malik’s expertise and frank and honest advice put me in a fantastic position and I was able to complete the marathon and loved every second. Malik’s knowledge and practise of the physical side of things was superb but what he offered that I’ve never experienced with physios previously was how in tune he was with the mental aspect of a patient. His motivation of me was outstanding and was the difference to me running the marathon or not. Thank you Malik.

I found this site as I was having trouble with my back. I’ve seen both private and NHS physiotherapists for my back, knees and shoulders. I’ve never really ‘clicked’ with previous experiences.
On this occasion I found the whole process transformative. This was a far more individual and holistic approach to my issues. Malik did not just help with stretches to ease my back pain but gave me pointers to make lifestyle changes. It was a lightbulb moment for me!Colin, Northampton

From the first visit with Malik I felt someone was listening to me and understanding what I was going through, that’s a great comfort when you are in pain.
He asked some simple questions but they had a big impact on how I viewed and understood my pain. For example, asking me if my life was stressful at the time made me think. I was indeed under a lot of stress and I plotted a time line that I could pinpoint triggers that caused increase pain. This also led me to do some self-help CBT. This I found very helpful.
Malik asked me about my sleep, and it wasn’t good. He sent helpful emails about sleep hygiene and this was very helpful, despite other issues this has improved greatly over a period of time.
The exercises he gave me made me feel again that I could help myself and after giving up work gave me some structure to my day .
The most important comments he made were about progress with the pain, telling me it was going to take time and I would have bad days and even bad weeks which help during those times so that you don’t get depression or frustrated.
It hasn’t been a quick fix but because I was aware of this I didn’t get so frustrated with the set backs and when I did the tension made my pain worse .
Malik helped me make links between lots of things that can affect pain. He also gave me reassurance about the pain not being serious and then cause more stress.
I feel very lucky to have had my first appointments with Malik as I believe the kindness and understanding he showed was the one thing that put me on the road to recovery.Amanda, Newark
